Ever feel like you’re on a never-ending journey and it seems impossible that you’ll make it to the end? Well that’s exactly how I felt setting up my blog.
You’re more than likely one of my first ever readers, so there is no better time to say welcome and thank you so much for stopping by!
Sharing my own words, thoughts and putting my voice out there has taken a bit of time to get the ball rolling, for a couple of reasons – a) I’ve had to convince myself to take a leap of faith and just go for it. And b), it’s always a good idea to plan content and do your research.
Now that I’ve finally done it, I have to say it feels pretty damn good, and exciting!
I should probably explain why I decided to start blogging?
Last year I realised that writing is my free therapy, my ultimate ‘zone-out’ activity and I guess you could say – it’s my new happy place. On top of crumpets, choccy b’s, oh and Netflix. And for the sake of a healthy balance… I do love a good ole’ gym session. Since it has such a positive effect on me, it’s my goal to always set aside time in my week to stick at it and let the words flow.
To keep motivated in a few aspects of my life, and to channel my inner flourishes of inspiration into creating something meaningful, I’ll be keeping you up-to-date with ‘The Diary of Rebecca’. It’s basically the world according to me, a taste of my favourite holiday destinations and random thoughts about everything and anything!
What tweaks do you make to your routine to keep you feeling happy and positive?
Is it a self-lovin’ solo Saturday or coffee trip? A ten-minute walk, taking in the fresh air on your lunch break? Or even just checking in with your grand-parents regularly? Of course, fulfilling a burning passion, special life events and the people that are closest to us all bring us joy. There is also value in making sure that we find time for simplistic actions like these that put a smile on our face (or others!) and that make us feel fabulous. As the song goes, ‘the best things in life are free’ right?
Most importantly, if it makes you happy, then always dedicate yourself to it. Set aside time in your routine, even when the effort seems out of reach and when things get a little hectic. No matter how big or small – it’s worth that sense of achievement in the end.
Haven’t discovered yet what truly makes you tick? Then that’s totally fine too. We all have different ideas of happiness and how to achieve it, no person is ever the same! Be confident, believe in yourself and give something new a go.
Let me know if the comments section below if you’ve been inspired to try out something new this week. I’d love to hear what makes you smile.
